1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Notare, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. License & cost

Notare is free and open source, released under the MIT License. The full source code is available at github.com/abhi-wan-kenobi/notare. You may use, modify, distribute, and self-host Notare in accordance with the terms of the MIT License.

3. "As is", no warranty

Notare is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. This is consistent with the MIT License. You use Notare at your own risk.

4. Notare+ and premium features

The core app is free. Some optional, clearly-marked premium or hosted features may be offered separately (for example, a hosted transcription or companion service). If you choose to use any such paid feature, it is subject to any additional terms presented to you at the point of purchase. You are never required to use a paid feature to use Notare.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use Notare and for complying with all applicable laws. In particular, recording and transcribing conversations is subject to consent and recording laws that vary by jurisdiction — you are responsible for obtaining any consent required from meeting participants before recording.

6. Third-party services

Notare can connect to third-party services that you choose to configure — for example, Google Calendar, external LLM providers, or a self-hosted transcription server. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Notare is not responsible for third-party services or for how they handle your data.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors of Notare are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — Notare.

8. Privacy

Your use of Notare is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of Notare after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
